1. Overview

ShowNxt ("we", "us", "our") operates a college soccer recruiting platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information from athletes, coaches, clubs, and other users, including users under the age of 18.

2. Information We Collect

Account information: name, email address, password (hashed), role (athlete, coach, or club).

Athlete profile data: date of birth, graduation year, height, weight, GPA, position, club affiliation, highlight video URLs, profile photos, campus and budget preferences.

Coach profile data: university name, division, conference, location, program bio, university logo, profile photos.

Club profile data: club name, sport, gender division, location, logo.

Usage data: application submissions, messages sent, pages visited, timestamps.

Payment data: processed and stored by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers.

Device data: IP address, browser type, and device information collected automatically for security and analytics.

3. How We Use Your Information

To operate the recruiting marketplace and facilitate connections between athletes and coaches
To display athlete profiles to college coaches who have active roster openings
To send transactional emails (application updates, password resets, account notifications)
To process subscription payments
To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security threats
To improve the Platform based on usage patterns

4. Information Shared With Others

Coaches see athlete profiles: When an athlete applies to a listing, the coach can view the athlete's profile information (name, position, stats, video, photo). This is the core purpose of the Platform.

Athletes see coach/program profiles: Coach profiles and program details are visible to registered athletes.

We do not sell personal data. We do not share your information with third-party advertisers or data brokers.

Service providers: We use Stripe (payments), Resend (email), Sentry (error tracking), and cloud hosting providers. These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies.

5. Google Account Data (Gmail Integration)

Coaches may choose to connect their Google account so ShowNxt can send recruiting emails on their behalf and, optionally, log correspondence with the athletes they are tracking. This feature is optional and is used only by coaches who explicitly connect their account.

What we access. With your permission, we request the following Google account access:

Send email on your behalf (gmail.send): to send recruiting emails you compose in ShowNxt directly from your own Gmail address.
Read your email (gmail.readonly): to find and log messages between you and the specific athletes you are tracking, so your correspondence appears in your recruiting activity log.

How we use it. We use this access solely to provide the email-sending and correspondence-logging features described above. We only read messages involving the athlete email addresses you have chosen to track. We do not read, scan, or index the rest of your mailbox.

What we store. We store an encrypted access credential so the feature keeps working, and the specific messages you have chosen to log (sender, recipients, subject, date, and body) as part of your activity log. You can disconnect your Google account at any time, which stops all access.

What we do not do. We do not sell Google user data. We do not use it for advertising. We do not transfer it to third parties except as needed to provide the feature or as required by law. We do not use it to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models.

Limited Use. ShowNxt's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Revoking access. You can revoke ShowNxt's access at any time from your Google Account permissions page or by disconnecting your inbox in ShowNxt account settings.

6. Users Under 18

ShowNxt serves student-athletes who may be between 13 and 17 years old. We require parental or guardian consent for users under 18.

We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us at lucas@shownxt.com and we will promptly delete the account.

For users aged 13-17, we collect only the information necessary to operate the recruiting platform. Parents or guardians may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their child's data at any time by contacting us.

7. Data Security

We protect your data using industry-standard measures: encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords (bcrypt), session-based authentication with secure cookies, and access controls on our database and infrastructure. No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable precautions to protect your information.

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your profile data from public view within 30 days. We may retain certain data (e.g., transaction records) as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data
Object to or restrict certain processing
Request a copy of your data in a portable format

10. Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you logged in. This is a functional cookie required for the Platform to work. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
