Streaks & Activity Levels
Every ShowNxt athlete has a daily streak. Sustain it and you climb a 1 to 10 ladder. Coaches see your level on every card. The most active athletes get surfaced first.

The 10-level ladder
Each level is a streak length. Level 10 is a full year of daily messaging.
| Level | Streak | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | 1 day | You signed up and took your first action. |
| Level 2 | 3 days | Three days in a row. You're starting a habit. |
| Level 3 | 7 days | A full week. Most kids quit before this. |
| Level 4 | 14 days | Two weeks. Coaches see the streak on your card. |
| Level 5 | 30 days | 30 days. That's a habit, not luck. |
| Level 6 | 60 days | Two months. You're outworking most of the platform. |
| Level 7 | 120 days | Four months. Top of the activity rankings. |
| Level 8 | 180 days | Half a year. Proof of consistency. |
| Level 9 | 270 days | Nine months. Almost no one makes it here. |
| Level 10 | 365 days | A full year. The top of ShowNxt. |
Common questions
What counts as a qualifying action for the streak?
Three things, any one of them in a day keeps the streak alive: send a coach an Email Coach (the cold-email tool), submit an application to a listing, or send a coach a message in your inbox. Submitting an application counts because it's an opening message to that coach.
What happens if I miss a day?
The streak resets to zero, but your highest level holds. If you got to Level 5 (30-day streak) and miss a day, your level stays at 5 even though you'll need to start a new streak from day 1. Levels are non-decreasing during normal operation.
What do coaches see?
On every athlete card across the platform, coaches see a small pill showing your current Activity Level (e.g. "LVL 5"). When they hover, the tooltip explains the level reflects messaging activity, not athletic ability. Within their fit-matched search results, the most active athletes surface first.
Can I cheat by sending one-line spam emails every day?
Technically yes, but it backfires. Coaches see your messages too. The kids who level up fast and get recruited are the ones who send thoughtful, personalized messages and reply quickly when coaches respond. The streak rewards consistency, but coaches reward quality.
Why aren't athletes ranked by athletic ability?
Because that signal is hard to verify and easy to game. Activity Level isn't a measure of how good of a player you are. It's a measure of how seriously you're recruiting. Coaches still filter by position, division, GPA, and other fit criteria; Activity Level is the tiebreaker that surfaces the athletes who keep showing up.
